Nest Is showing Error E-44

Hello, 

My Nest was bumped into and fell off the wall. The unit works, connects to wifi and has power, however I keep getting Error E-44. All the wires are straight and correct. Can I get help?

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry that your Nest thermostat was bumped into and fell off the wall and the E44 error code now showed up, but no need to worry; help is here. I need to know a few things about your thermostat in order to provide you with a better resolution.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have? For your reference, you can check out this article on how to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • What's the make and model of your HVAC equipment?
  • How many wires are there?
  • How are the wires labeled?
  • Is the display seated? (Does it properly lock itself into the base?)
  • Are all wires firmly seated into the terminals? (with no loose or exposed wires)
