Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen extended Blinking Green Light

My thermostat was working perfectly until earlier today, there is a blinking green light above the display, but the device display will not turn on. 

I have tried:

• Removing the device from the wall, then replacing the device on the wall
• Pressing the device for ~10 seconds. The light blinks orange once, then turns green again
• Removing from the wall, charging for ~30 minutes, and replacing on the wall.

It does not appear to be a battery issue, and the thermostat has worked flawlessly since installation (about 2 and a half months ago) until today.
