Nest Learning Thermostat AAAARRRRGGGGG!!!

Ok, I have been trying to get my nest learning thermostat to work for well over three months and going back-and-forth with tech-support on this forum. Sometimes I can’t reply to them as fast as they want and they close the thread which means I have to start over. This is the third time I will be posting in this forum needing help with my thermostat. Actually, it just needs to be replaced. It has stopped working and then will reconnect work two days Drop out reconnect drop out and it only works a day or 2 and now it it doesn’t do anything. Now I’m a little frustrated because this is been going on for so long. I’ve paid $300 for this thermostat I can’t get anyone to give me a telephone number so I can work this out in one conversation instead of 50 and five different threads. Yes I am angry, I have already told them that the Wi-Fi chip is bad it doesn’t work and I’m about ready to just snatch it off the wall and throw it back to wherever the nest headquarters is. This is ridiculous. The type of customer support that I’m having to deal with with this expensive thermostat. Just like another person said on the other thread I could’ve bought a $20 thermostat and get it to do exactly the same thing. The $300 thermostat doesn’t do anything more than the $20. From reading other post about the nest learning thermostat, apparently it not connecting to Wi-Fi is a problem, you would think that this would be recognized and they would replace it or even better yet re-engineer it and fix it so it doesn’t do this, get a better Wi-Fi chip something, do something. So basically I paid $300 to be able to control my thermostat for approximately six months from my phone and now it works like the regular one you have to get up walk down the hall and turn the knob just like the $20 one. I should’ve just gotten the $20 one.  Beyond angry about this, beyond frustrated about this. And trying to keep this G rated, I’m ticked off. I think we all deserve more than an email back-and-forth with tech-support after paying the money that we’ve paid for a thermostat that works no better than the cheap one that just does simple stuff. I think we all deserve a phone number to call and talk to tech-support. And this is coming for me, I usually don’t like to talk to people. I usually rather do it over text, an email but when it gets to the point that it’s irritating your customers, you need a phone number! Everyone I have emailed back-and-forth with are posted in the thread with has been super Duper nice. But only offering posting in a thread or over email to talk to tech-support is bad business.

Now that I have complained, can I please get some help with a thermostat that does not connect to Wi-Fi anymore. It doesn’t see any networks anymore. It gives me W5 and M 15 errors. It hasn’t worked in about approximately three months. I have done all the steps that tech-support recommended 5011 times before contacting contacting tech-support and 5011 times after contacting tech-support. The thermostat is done for. The Wi-Fi chip is not going to work anymore. It’s time to get my information and send me a new one and hope it last more than six months. But I’m not getting my hopes up because other people have gotten it replaced or just went out and spent another $300 and it still only last about a year or so at max.
this thermostat makes me want to take up drinking!!!

Hello Amy,

Thanks for posting. It's me again, and I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

I understand the frustration of waiting and not hearing back from our team after escalating the issue you're having with your Nest Thermostat for not connecting to the Wi-Fi network. But I did see that our higher tier of support sent you an email last week detailing the information we need to proceed with the process.

So please check your inbox, junk, or spam folder for the update and reply back to it. I'll go ahead and bump him as soon as you've sent your details.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,
Mark

Hey Mark,

I have checked everything. I don’t use this gmail address for any but my nest products.  I have nothing in my spam & nothing in trash. I do not see anything about my thermostat from anyone, except where I have gotten replies from the posts on here.
Can you tell me what type of address it will be coming from?

1 phone call and we could wrap all this up today. 😁

Thanks!

Amy

Janelyn,

Thank you for checking back in with me. I finally found the email. I have replied with which option I want to do but haven’t heard back yet. I think I just sent that email today. So, I will give them some more time to reply.
