Hello, I am trying to install a Nest Learning Thermostat, but am not fully sure which wires to choose as connected for the installation process. This is how my system is set up.

I am also confused about the metal rod connecting the R and RC (red wire connected to R)

The jumper between RC and R is not needed with the Nest.
Your System is only compatible with the 3rd or 4th Gen Learning Thermostat.
Does the White wire on W1 connect to terminal X2 with the black wire?

@Patrick_Caezza @The Thermostat is a 3rd gen learning thermostat. As for your second question, I’m not fully sure, to me they seem like individual connections (white goes to W1, black to X2)

I asked because the wire going to Y2 looks white-ish to me in the picture.
The X2 terminal is usually for Emergency Heat. Does your old thermostat have an Emergency heat switch?
If it isn't white, try this wiring.
White-ish - Y2 to Y2
Black - X2 to * ( Set as Emergency Heat)
White - W1 to W2 (set as AUX Heat)
Blue - B to C
Green - G to G
Yellow = Y to Y1
Orange - O to OB
Red = R to Rc (jumper to RC not needed)
