Installed nest learning thermostat and worked well for months. Found it completely denergized. Took it off wall and charged it with sub port in top back of thermostat. Now it will not connect to internet no matter what I do. Worse the thermostat automatically resets itself every day. I lose all programming and have to start from scratch. It still will not connect to internet. All troubleshooting failed. I am ready to claim warranty but wondering if anyone experienced this complete failure and fixed it.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how long did you charge it? Which Nest Thermostat do you have? Check the battery level of your Nest Thermostat. Go to Settings> Tech Info> Power. Also, the level of charge of your Nest Thermostat’s internal battery should be 3.7 V or higher. If ≤ 3.6, it will disconnect from WiFi. Looking forward to your response.

I removed it from its mount and charged it overnight and even then had all the same problems. It isn’t only not being able to connect it to internet but it keeps losing time and date. Now it keeps completely resetting and erasing all the programed data. Battery will quickly run down too. All of this just suddenly started to happen after months of use both heating and cooling. We had no power outages of any length.

I have not seen any communication concerning my Nest thermostat. I have replaced it with a Honeywell thermostat and am happy with it. I definitely want a refund. I really don’t want to write a scathing review so get your team to take care of this.
