Nest Learning Thermostat schedule

I have a scheduled time to heat the house from 6am at 20 degrees and to go down at 8pm to 15 degrees.  However this morning at 4:30am when I was letting the dog out, the heating was on at 20 degrees.  Could this have been because at some stage during the day I moved the dial to check how it was working and it over rode the settings, or is there possibly another reason. Also if I manually increase the temperature how or when does it go back to the scheduled setting again? I have only had this on for one day so far, so thank you for any help.

Hi @Eva1 - I've had a similar thing happen with my device.  I just ended up deleting the schedule, then recreating it from scratch.  That seemed to be the fix that it needed. I've only had to do this once, so hopefully this will be the same for you.

To answer your second question, if you manually change the temperature, that's a temporary hold.  At the time of the next set point in its schedule, the Nest will revert to the schedule.

As for the first problem, make sure that Home/Away Assist is turned off.  That's probably not the source of the error, but when troubleshooting it's best to suppress the "smart" features to make the Nest operate as simply as possible.

Hi, we turned off the learning part and we had also noticed that it seemed to start before the 6am start so that by the time 6am came it was at 20 degrees. We realised it does not start at 6am and work towards 20, it starts before. So when we realised that, we changed the times again. So far we think we may have a grip on it now. Thank you to those who gave help and thanks for asking how it was going. I really appreciate that!!!!
