Can anyone tell me if the Neat Learning Thermostat requires a C wire? I currently only has W and R wire so wondering if the latest Learning Thermostat will work for my heating systems. Thank you for your help!

Hi Kookie,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. The heating and cooling wires can be used to charge the built-in batteries of Nest Thermostats; however, some users may also need to connect the Nest Power Connector or a common or C wire to reliably supply power to their thermostat. The sole purpose of a common wire is to provide steady power and maintain the current flow into the thermostat; it has no control over any heating or cooling operations. Most of the time, a Nest Learning Thermostat won't require a C wire as long as your heating wires can charge your thermostat battery. But if your Nest Learning Thermostat has power problems or its battery frequently discharges, you'll need to install a C wire or a Nest Power Connector. Learn more about the C wire and the Nest Power Connector by clicking the articles below:
Let us know if that helps.

That was what I was wondering. If I need a wire hanging down my wall I'm sending it back
