Good Morning,

My Heat Link is RIP !!

Contacted Google Support and they confirmed this

I tried to purchase a replacement from the Google Store but they were all out of Stock

Spoke to Google Support again who advised a E was a suitable replacement

However !!

My old Heat Link has

2 x Blue Wires (1 from the Power & 1 from the Boiler)

2 x Brown Wires (1 from the Power & 1 from the Boiler)

1 x Black  Wire ( From the Boiler)

1 x Grey Wire ( From the Boiler)

2 x Earth Wires

However my Heat Link E only has 5 connectors

C

NO

FP

OT1

OT2

Not sure what wire goes where

I have contacted the first 10 Local recommended Nest Pro Installers 9 No Reply 1 Was only interested in Installing a New Boiler

I'm going to get my Electrician to Install it But he's never done one before

I'd apricate any help  you can give

Thanks

Yeah, that wiring difference is where it gets tricky the Nest E Heat Link uses a different terminal setup, so it’s not always a straight swap from the older model. Definitely good you’re getting an electrician involved, just make sure they follow the Nest E wiring diagram exactly to avoid issues.

Hi @WOSH,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you are having issues installing your new Heat Link E, as your previous Heat Link had more wiring ports than the new one. I appreciate the effort that you’ve put into resolving this issue. Help is here!

To better understand this situation I would like to ask the following questions:

  1. What model of Nest Thermostat do you have?  Here’s a helpful article about how to identify your thermostat model
  2. Do you have the case number from your interaction with Google Support where they confirmed your Heat Link was no longer functioning?
  3. What is your country of residence?

Thanks @jackobjasson2  for jumping into this!

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Anna
