All you need to do is reinstall the nest app, use the same Nest Logins you installed the thermostat with, and it will link up since it has all critical information stored on the Google cloud.

I reinstalled the app and had to reinstall the devices. I have one working but the other I can reinstall because ot is locked.

When you use the correct nest account you do not need to “reinstall” the thermostat.  As I stated, it’s in the cloud so it simply links up.  Once you login to the Nest app with the original ID. It will pull the data of the cloud and your nest devices simply show up in the app.  To confirm this, I just deleted my Nest app, delete all the related data stored on the phone.   Then, went to Apple and downloaded the Nest app. Logged in with my ID. And sure enough there are my Nest devices including my Nest Thermostat.  I am not sure why you are having difficulty. Are you using the correct Nest ID that your thermostat is registered to?

I used the correct account. One of my family members deleted the two devices before I could reset them.

If you went into the App and performed a “remove device”, then yes, you now have a brick on the wall now. I seen post about a a year ago that showed that there is a way that Google can help you. Once they can validate that you are the owner, they can send you a file that will unlock the device.  You will need a computer with a USB connection using a USB A to Micro USB cable.  You will need call Google Support and spend time proving to  them the you are the owner.  I imagine the purchase receipt and the original box might help. Good luck,

I just wish I knew the number to call.  I would have the purchase receipt and the box handy for when you finally reach the human.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

Thanks for looking into this, @CoolingWizard.

@Docsherm, if you haven't unlocked your Nest Thermostat yet, I'd be happy to take a look at this for you. Please remove your thermostat display from its base and connect it to your computer (MacOS, ChromeOS, or Windows) using a micro USB cable. Make sure that the cable is working and that your computer recognizes it. If so, look for the folder named "TechnicalInfo.PLIST" and let me know if it shows.

Mark

UI have done that and I see that file.
