Nest Model 3.7 will not power on

Hello, I bought the 3 pack of Nest Learning Thermostats from Costco and installed them all at the same time. One of the thermostats has gone offline, it flashes with the red/orange light at the top.

I have removed the thermostat and charged it with the mini-USB cable.  The light blinks green and the display will turn on. it will display the Google logo and indicate that the thermostat needs to be connected to the base.

Upon reattaching the thermostat to the base, the thermostat display will turns black and the light flashes red again.

The other two thermostats are functioning properly.

The display model# is 3.7.
The software version is 6.2-27

What is the remedy to fix the blank thermostat?

Update: I charged the thermostat overnight via the micro USB port (12 hours) and was briefly able to collect the Power readings before the thermostat powered off again.

3.398 volts
Voc 37.64V
Vin 37.64
Lin 200 mA(c)

It seems the battery is unable to return to a healthy charge.  With this new information, what are the options?

Hi hrl,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Follow these steps:

Remove the thermostat display from its base and check if any connector pins are bent then check if the thermostat wires are secured in their terminals and all the buttons are down. Once done and the same thing persists, plug the thermostat’s display into a power outlet and leave it plugged in using a micro-USB cable and a USB charger then let us know if that works.

Best,

Zoe

Hi Zoe,  I charged the thermostat for over 24 hours via the mini-USB and it the battery never increased above 3.4volts.  It seems the battery has gone bad, so I returned the thermostat to the place of purchase.

Hello hrl,

Thanks for the follow-up information. Since you've returned your Nest Learning Thermostat back to its place of purchase, were you able to get a replacement from them? If so, how does it go?

Regards,

Zoe
