Nest No Power

For my Next Thermostat (3rd Gen), it just started with message to remove and reattach; I have tried resetting/rebooting and same error. I can't get it to come back on. Left it for several hours last night and same error. Is there any advice to fix this?

Hi @DK2424,

Thank you for your timely post and the comprehensive information you've provided. I've reviewed the input and understand that you're encountering some no power issues on your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation, and you received a message that says remove and reattach, and I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I'm here to help you troubleshoot and find a solution together.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • When did you install the thermostat?
  • When did the issue begin?
  • Is this your first time setting up your Nest thermostat?

You can check this in the interim:

  • Carefully remove the thermostat's display and check for bent connector pins.
  • Verify that the thermostat wires are securely connected and all buttons are pressed down.
  • Make sure the thermostat display is properly seated.
  • If you have two or more thermostats of the same generation, you can swap the display to check if the issue is related to the display or the base plate. If you don't have any extra thermostats, you can skip this step.

Please keep me posted and let me know how it goes.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.
