Nest Not working for furnace and A/C

Am a bit stumped here, have an A/C Unit and a furnace, however I DO have an O/B wire, connecting it all to the nest has not been smooth sailing yet. When setting to heat, the furnace does not turn on, have to set it to always use AUX heat to start the furnace. However after setting that in the settings, it seems that the A/C unit turns on every time that the heat is set. Had to turn off the A/C unit breaker to prevent it from happening. Not sure what to do here, attaching pictures of connections on previous model and Nest connections. Looks like I have O/B, Rh (with jumper to Rc), W, C, G, Y/Y2. Are you certain that you have a furnace as in a Gas furnace for heat, and not a Heat Pump system?

A Heat pump needs to run the ac outdoor unit for heat mode, but the refrigerant aka freon, circulates in reverse when heating mode is selected. If the heat pump cannot keep house warm in extreme cold then the Aux heat kicks in usually electric heat strips in the ductwork or possibly a gas fired furnace.

So you need to determine what kind of heating and cooling system you have in your house to wire it correctly.

I am positive I have a gas furnace, in fact when not on aux heat it blows out cold air into the house with a message “2+ hours” until reaching desired heat. I am aware I have the O/B wire but based off what I’m experiencing I’m pretty sure it’s only a gas furnace that’s heating my home not heat pump, unless the non-aux heating is miss configured and that’s why it throws out cold air when on heat mode

Disconnect orange wire and go thru setup again tell nest its a standard ac and gas forced air system see if heat works.
