Nest Temperature Sensors not Customizable

pjfumi92

Is there any plan to allow customization of sensor’s temperature time and days?  Currently there is only the option to set predefined timeframes and no ability to change that based on the day (weekday vs weekend).

Is there a plan to improve this?  There are several complaints about this issue on this forum.  I would have never purchased the sensors if I knew this before hand.

Is there a timeframe to add this feature to the Nest Thermostats?  There are multiple threads on this forum regarding this issue.

This is also conveniently no mentioned on Google’s own website for the Nest Temperature Sensors:

“Meet the Nest Temperature Sensor.
Most homes aren’t the same temperature in every room. With the Nest Temperature Sensor, you can let your Nest Thermostat E or Nest Learning Thermostat know which room should be a certain temperature at a certain time of day. Just place it on a wall or shelf and get the right temperature, right where you want it.”

“A certain temperature at a certain time of day” implies to the consumer that they will have the ability to set temperatures at different points of the day.  What is conveniently left out is you are limited to four preset timeframes to assign those temperatures.  Is the assumption that every purchaser of these temperature sensors operates on the same schedule for “mornings”, “afternoon”, “evenings”, or “nights”?  The first mention of this fact is after you install the Nest Thermostat and after you have already removed the battery tab from the temperature sensors (disqualifying the product for returns).

The technical specifications show no mention of this on the website as well.  It does let you know that “Up to 6 Nest Temperature Sensors supported per connected thermostat.”  What there is no mention of is they only allow one temperature sensor to be assigned per one of the four preset timeframes. So they will sell you 6 temperature sensors with only the ability to utilize 4 of them.

Good afternoon Mark.

Has there been any follow up to a timeframe for implementing these features?
