Nest Therm Stuck

This is my first post. I have 2 Nest therms, upstairs and downstairs. Today the downstairs therm randomly froze, which made it start getting hot downstairs as it wasn’t cooling. The therm said it was 77 degrees, and it was responsive meaning I could still use the app and the button on the unit to navigate through screens on the unit. When I set it down to 75, it registered on the device itself but did not kick on the AC even though the temp was supposedly 77. The only way that I realized it hadn’t been on in several hours was to check the history screen. I reset the breakers to the air handler and the heat pump and that didn’t change anything. Finally I decided to reset the unit using the onboard controls, and lo and behold it came back on and started cooling. In fact, it updated the temp to the actual room temp which was 82, a whole 5 degrees warmer than it previously displayed. I’ve never seen it do this before and hope it doesn’t do it again, because as I said the only way to know it wasn’t cooling was to notice it being warm in the house and checking the history screen. This actually was quite a scare because the AC itself is pretty old and we just had to replace the entire upstairs AC unit as it broke down. Extremely glad the AC still works but concerned about the Nest therm now.
