Nest Thermostat 3rd Generation with Faulty WiFi module

The previous thread was closed although this seems to be a continuing issue with these devices.     Do the more recently produced gen 3s still have this issue ?.  I've now ordered what will be my 3rd device (in 8 months) the previous two had the same issues.

What options if any are there to ensure that this doesn't keep occurring.

Having 2 faulty thermostats with the same wifi issue in 8 months doesn't sound like a hardware issue, if it is, you are the most unlucky user I have come across!!. I am sure this has been mentioned before, but have you ever tried connecting the faulty thermostat in another persons home? The reason for me saying this, there are dozens of problems that can cause wifi issues, and most are around the home with metal objects, and signals etc.

Which country are you in? Here in Europe the Nest thermostat can be plugged in on the base plate with a USB cable on a stand, can you do that with yours?
