Nest Thermostat Compatibility

Wanting to install my Gen 3 Learning Thermostat, however the set-up told me I needed to go here to make sure it was compatible. Picture for reference. 

Current System Wiring

Black: Aux

Orange: Aux

Yellow: Y1

White: W1

Green: G

Red: R

Blue: C

Hi Burchellaj,

 

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with wiring your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

 

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • What's the make and model of your current thermostat?

Also, if you have access to the control board of your HVAC system, please check where the other end of the wires are connected to.

As previously mentioned, I ran into a brick wall - mainly centered around the Orange and Black wires that are running to the AUX on my current thermostat. With your helpful tip of tracing those back to the control panel of my system, I saw that those do not actually terminate in the system and are just there for future use.

At this point in time, I can proceed with my install as planned and this thread can be closed.
