Nest Thermostat E Temperature Bandwidth

ollyjoseph

The actual accuracy of the unit although important to me is not the main issue but the temperature difference between switching on or off before I buy one.
If it is set to 20 deg C, will it switch off when the temperature reaches 20.5 and switch on at 19.5 as I hope or is it off at 21 and on at 19.

Regards

Hello ollyjoseph,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

I know the temperature range shown in the Nest app, Nest Web app, and on the actual thermostat itself can be confusing, but your thoughts are right. The thermostat should turn off the system when it reaches your set temperature and turn on when it senses at least a 2- to 3-degree temperature difference. A 0.5-degree difference usually gives the system time to adjust.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark
