Nest Thermostat E Won’t Connect to App

Hi folks.  I just bought 2 new Nest Thermostat Es and I can get them connected to WiFi from the thermostat itself, but I cannot get it to connect to the App.  I have 2 Nest cameras in my account that connected easily before so this challenge is new to me. 

I am getting a TD005 error code when I’ve tried to connect via the standard app connecting process.

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation you're experiencing with the WiFi connection of your Nest Thermostat E while you are trying to connect it to the app. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry; help is here. 
Here are some steps that you can try:

  • Check the thermostat's battery levels.
  • Check for messages and help codes on your thermostat.
  • Check that you have the latest app version.
  • Make sure that your home Wi-Fi works.
  • Restart your router.
  • Restart your Nest thermostat.
