Hi there @Karel and thanks for bringing this to my attention. No worries, we'll have a look at this. Can you tell me what country you are located in? Did you manage eventually to turn on the thermostat? Let me know.

The salesmen from where i bought it mentioned some relation to heatlink having power or not but i seems to me the thermostat E (on a seperate stand) has its own powercord and should after plugging in show this "home"or housesign at screen while continuing to to the setup and connecting to heatlink via app: but i just cannot continue via app installation process since the thermostat E does not turn on (no connection also via app setup)

@Karel, many thanks for providing me all these details, really helpful.

Can you tell me if your Heat Link is already installed/wired to the boiler?

Also, have you tried removing the actual display from its stand and charging it separately?

Basically, if you grab the screen and pull it in front it will come off and on the back of it you should find a mini USB port. Please connect a charger from a power socket directly into the back of the display and leave it to charge at least 90 minutes.

Keep me posted if there going to be any changes after this step.

Yes Heat link connected/wired but this does not help the seperate thermostat turn on: removing the display is not possible with this version: it come with seperate display/fixed base with own powerplug and not like the V3 seprable display: after 2 days charging, i give up and returned the nest : heat link was not the issue, connecting via APP Nest did not work, display stayed non responsive unfortunately and kept red light blinking... i fear these batches too deep discharged or too long on stock.. (anyway, not normal and no instruction shows any charging need from google.. connecting display (with fixed stand) should turn on immediately after unboxing... thks for help anyway!!!

@Karel, I totally understand what you mean, but I can assure that even the Thermostat E version can be detached from its stand. If you're going to buy another Google Nest Thermostat E, please follow the instructions above and remove the display from the stand and try to charge it directly with a USB cable.

Sometimes due to the storage/transportation conditions, the brand new devices drain out the battery and that's why we recommend to be charged via a cable. We're sorry about your experience with the thermostat, hopefully you'll rethink your decision when it comes to the rest of the products.

If by any chance you'll need more help, feel free to reach back and ask for it.
