Nest Thermostat E replacement

This is not really "getting started" but I could find no better category.

I manage 10 Google Nest E thermostats in a church.  They are all programmed by using the Nest app rather than Google Home.  One of the 10 has failed (out of warranty) according to the HVAC contractor.  A new Google Nest E thermostat has been purchased to replace the failed one (it was hard to find).  Do I need to "Remove" the old thermostat before I install the new one?  I want the new one to have the same label and show up in the Nest display on my computer as the old one.

Question 2: does anyone know if the relatively new Google thermostats would be compatible with the same Nest app on my computer, and be able to be scheduled remotely the same way as the Thermostat E?

Thanks for any help, Bruce

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.

The Nest Thermostat (model 2020) is fully integrated into the Google Home app and only works with it. The wiring configuration should be the same as your Nest Thermostat E, but how you set it up, manage it, and control it will be different because it will not be available in the Nest App Web. To know more about how it works, please check out this link and let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark
