Nest Thermostat E won’t connect to app

Lilalou

I can’t connect my thermostat e since changing WiFi networks. I’ve tried removing the product from the app and adding it again. I’ve also reset the thermostat so I now have the phone symbol with a picture of a house and arrow above it which I guess means connect to app. When I try to add it to the app and connect to WiFi I get a message saying - something went wrong. Your thermostat couldn’t connect to WiFi and a TD005 (4072) code.

Hi @Lilalou!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat E is not connecting to the Nest app. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

Let's try some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Nest app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Make sure that your mobile device is close to your router when you try to add your thermostat to the Nest app. If your thermostat is mounted on a Nest Stand, you can also move your thermostat closer to your router.
  3. Restart your router. When you restart your router, it resets your internet connection. You should also restart any Wi-Fi range extenders or repeaters.
  4. Reset your thermostat to defaults. Learn how to restart or reset a Nest thermostat.
  5. Try connecting it again.

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,
Geremi
