Thermostat keeps turning itself to Eco.  Wake up ar night freezing, because thermostat has set itself to 64, instead of 73.

Same but mine is doing it during the day, while I'm home. My presence setting should be using my phone location to determine I'm home. My phone is also Google Pixel.

Hi Mimiealy,

Thank you so much for sharing your concerns with me. I’m sorry to hear your thermostat is changing the temperature during the day. Don’t worry; I’m here to help.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • What model of thermostat do you have? If you’re unable to recognize it, check out this article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have

  • When did the trouble first occur?

  • Have you taken some troubleshooting steps so far? If so, could you describe me in this post?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Daniel

When you first open the Nest app go to settings at the top right select scroll down to thermostat select then go down to Eco temperatures and adjust those and double check you Safety temperatures. We had the same issue after checking then two above we turned off Auto Schedule and Early On. Also, when you select your thermostat (on the same main page that you found the settings) choose your thermostat then at the bottom right select schedule to make you heating, cooling, and cool & heat schedule. Just do one day then tap hold the one day and copy that day and paste it to each day of that week.

Hello Kimacw,

Thank you so much for sharing your concerns with me. I understand your Nest Thermostat E keeps turning itself to Eco mode by itself. No need to worry; let's explore some troubleshooting options.

To isolate the situation, try to disable these other features in your thermostat:

  • Go to Settings > Nest Sense > Auto Schedule. Select No and then tap Done.

  • Go to Settings > Eco. Then, under Heat to and Cool to, select one and turn the dial until you see Off. Finally, tap Done.

  • Go to Settings > Home Away Assist. Select Stop Using.

  • Finally, go to settings > reset > schedule > reset and turn the ring to reset.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Daniel
