Nest Thermostat E

Paul25
Community Member

Hi

I installed a Nest Thermostat E a couple of years ago.

It has always worked until now..

The heatlink on the wall is hard wired and has power, but the Thermostat hasn't had power for a couple of weeks.

According to the Nest app, the device stopped working two weeks ago, and according to Google home, it is showing offline.

The device hasn't moved and my WiFi hasn't changed.

I removed it from the Nest app and tried to reinstall it, but due to the Thermostat not having power, I cant re-add it to the Nest app.

I am stumped as to what is wrong with it and how I can sort it.

Any suggestions would be amazing.

Thank you

Wonder if some circuit within the thermostat has broken- you could test it if you have another thermostat you can connect temporarily. I faced a similar problem with my nest

Thank you for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, I don't have another thermostat.

Hi @Paul25,

Thanks for contacting this community! I understand your Nest Thermostat E has unexpectedly lost power to the thermostat unit, despite the Heat Link being powered, and it's been offline for about two weeks in both your Nest and Google Home apps. I see you've already tried troubleshooting, including re-adding it, but you're blocked due to the lack of power. I can imagine how frustrating the situation is, and I'm truly sorry for the heating inconvenience. Let's work together to find a solution.

To provide the most accurate troubleshooting steps, I'd like to ask you some questions.

  • Is there a wiring report or error message on your thermostat or app?
  • Has there been a power outage or any recent work done on your thermostat or heating system?
  • What are the power readings in Settings > Technical Info > Power?
  • Did you try to connect the thermostat to a charger?

@mathewr, thanks for your recomendations of the inconvinience that your experienced.

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
Eduardo
