Nest Thermostat Entry Key issue

Changed my home SSID and my Nest Thermostat (NT) is connected to the internet.  However, the Nest app on my iPhone states it is 'offline'.  The NT needs an Entry Key as I restarted.  Keep getting the message “there was a problem connecting to the service.  Try again later."  What else can I do?

Hi rgw58,

 

Thanks for reaching out, I am here to help! I recommend you remove your device from the app please follow this steps:

 

  • To remove it please go to the app then select the thermostat that is offline > then settings and finally tap remove.
  • Then on your thermostat device go to settings>then turn the ring until you see the option reset and finally select the account connection.

 

Finally you have to add your thermostat on the app again if it asks for the entry key please follow these steps to find the entry key:

 

  1. Press your thermostat’s ring to open the Quick View menu.
  2. Choose Settings .
  3. Turn the ring to Nest app and press the ring to select it.
  4. Select Get Entry Key to retrieve a unique entry key. Follow the next steps below to use your Nest app to add your thermostat to your account.
