Nest Thermostat Missing Heat Mode

Hi. I live in an apartment style condo with forced heating and cooling. The building switches between heat and A/C based on the time of year. My old thermostat had Y and R wires with a jumper between Y and W. I used the app set up and now have the Y in Y1 and R in Rh with no jumper. The thermostat will only show "off" and "cooling" modes. My building is now set to heat and if I turn the thermostat on, it thinks it's cooling but heat is coming out of the vents. Customer Service said to check with my HVAC company but it's fine for everyone else and worked with the old thermostat. How do get "heating" mode to show up?

@Mogget ,

All thermostats produced use W wire for heat and Y for cooling.  You cannot jumper two wires in a Nest thermostat.  How ever using the W wire also you can combine it with the Y at the air handler.

Thank you! I didn't think to use the jumped W instead of the jumper Y. This has worked for heat!
