Nest Thermostat - OFFLINE - CHECK WI-FI CONNECTION

Mimi26

My Nest thermostat has been offline for many hours' now. I have manually put in my wi-fi details.

Switched off my device, restarted and nothing. I have moved the thermostat closer to the router. Nothing.

It's frustrating.

I restarted the thermostat and it's made it worse. (Should I go for complete factory setting)

Could it be my network?

I have hot water so that's good. Is there any other way to switch the heating on ?

Or could it be new wiring from new boiler? Working fine when previously installed.

I'm having the same issue.  My 3 sensors, which were working fine before, have been offline for about a week.  I'd just changed the battery in 2 of them, so I knew it wasn't that.  I reset one of the sensors, but unable to connect to thermostat.  So I removed the thermostat from my app, and tried to reinstall it.  I'm now unable to connect to the app.  I've reset the router, reset the thermostat, signed out of and deleted the app.  Then turned off my phone before downloading the app again.  No luck.  But you should be able to still use your thermostat.  Just reset it, and then choose set up later for the app.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties connecting your Nest thermostat to the app. I understand it can be frustrating when your device isn't working as expected. Don't worry, help is here. To better assist you, please confirm:

  • What type of thermostat do you have? For reference visit the next article: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • How far is your Nest thermostat from your router?
  • Can your Nest thermostat find or detect other networks?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, and more) near your Nest thermostat?
  • Are there any error messages or codes on your Nest thermostat display? If so, please share a picture of the display showing the error.

Please let me know the answers to these questions, and I'll be happy to help you further.

Best regards,
Jonathan
