Hi
Do any temperature sensors (that can adjust the thermostat based on the temperature of another room) work with the new nest (v1.4 per google home, not the E or learning Nest)?
If the answer is no, then can I connect both the nest thermostat and the nest temperature sensor to an alexa, samsung hub, nest hub or some other hub and have the nest use the temperature sensor reading to control the HVAC?

Hi @arunviswa,
While the Nest Thermostat v1.4 doesn't currently support additional temperature sensors, at this moment none of the nest thermostats does include this feature, even using a hub to include temperature sensors the one controing the HVAC system will be the sensor included in the Thermostat.
This feature would be a valuable addition, as it would allow for more precise temperature control in different rooms.
I understand the frustration this limitation might cause. If you're interested in providing feedback to Nest about this feature, you can do so through the following link:
Thank you for your honest feedback. This is really helpful.
Best regards,

Are you sure that NO nest thermostat are supporting additional sensors??
There is an option in Nest Learning thermostat that accepts additional sensors and supports room based temperature.

Hi @arunviswa,
I apologize if my previous response caused any confusion. To answer your question, no Nest Thermostat works with other sensors. The Nest Learning Thermostat you mentioned, if it's the 3rd generation, only works with the Nest temperature sensor. Specifically, you connect the sensor to the thermostat through the Nest app. As for the thermostat's behavior, it will average the temperature detected by both the Nest thermostat and the Nest temperature sensor and activate the HVAC system to reach the selected temperature. It does not control the temperature independently in each room.
If you wanted to use any other type of sensor, as I mentioned earlier, unfortunately they are not compatible with any of the Nest Thermostats currently on the market.
If you want to know more about how Nest temperature sensors work, you can go to the following link where you can find all the information about how they work and their compatibilities: Learn about the NEst Temperature Sensor.
I hope this information is helpful and if you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reply to this post.
Best regards,
Josh
