My old wifi went bad. While it was bad, my Nest thermostat totally dropped off, and I could not cool during this time. (not good) In effect, my AC was completely inoperable. I reprogrammed the thermostat to new wifi, and it connects fine. Even though the thermostat shows grayed-out in the app, the app cannot control it. I see something about a code to reconnect to the app, but I don't have instructions on how to get the code an reconnect. So, currently, operation of the thermostat is 100% manual with no program, even though I previously had a great programs for heating/cooling. The thermostat currently show grayed-out an offline in the app, even though it IS connected to wifi again. Please help.

Hi stevelingis,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
I understand how confusing it can be if your Nest Thermostat is connected to the internet but shows offline in your app. Don't worry, though; I can help you get your thermostat working as expected.
Could you please tell me which type of Nest thermostat you have and which app you're using to control it? It would be great if you could also let me know if you're seeing any error codes in your app or on the thermostat display. This information can help us determine why your thermostat isn't manageable through the app.
You can set up your thermostat by scanning the QR Code or typing the Entry key on the back of the display in your app and following the on-screen instructions. Just make sure your thermostat has a proper internet connection. Feel free to check out this article on how to Change the Nest thermostat's Wi-Fi network to ensure everything is set up correctly.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.
