My Nest Thermostat Gen 3 is showing a wrong temperature. The temperature is about 5*C warmer then it actually is. I’ve tried resetting a few times. It isn’t installed on a warm wall. Battery is charged and it is wiring is also correct.
What do I need to do? Can it be replaced?
Thanks

Hi Feelgoodinc,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I want to check if you are still in need of any help. If so, please follow the steps below:
The signal strength has a maximum value of 100. A signal strength of 75 is considered strong, while a value of 36 or lower is considered weak.
I'll look forward to your response.
Best,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
Thank you for your reply. The issue is still there. I checked the signal strength and it is 74. So I guess that’s pretty ok.
Can i try anything else?
best, Vince

Hi there,
Thanks for the update. Direct sunlight can cause the Nest thermostat temperature sensors to heat up, so the thermostat may think that the ambient temperature in the room is higher than it is. Please enable your thermostat Sunblock feature.
In the Nest app:
In the Nest Thermostat:
Check the compatibility of your router and network settings to your thermostat by going to Wi-Fi routers that are incompatible with Nest products and Recommended Wi-Fi router settings for Nest products.
Disconnect your thermostat from the Wi-Fi network for 24 hours to monitor the ambient temperature. To disconnect the thermostat from the network, select Settings Network
Disconnect.
Please keep us posted.
I appreciate your input, Zoe.
Regards,
Jenelyn

Hi Jenelyn,
The Nest thermostat is located on a wall, that never has direct sunlight. Either way, I’ve enabled the setting to see if it makes a difference. But it doesn’t.
I also tried disconnecting the wifi-network, but that also doesn’t affect the temperature.
What else can I try? I really want this to be fixed.
thanks!
