Nest Thermostat in need of Power connector.

About 10 years ago I added an extension to my home I added two more zones to the existing ones for a total of 4 zones. I recently bought 5 Nest T-stats. My boiler uses a 2 wire system and from what I read I didn't need a C wire. Well while setting up the Nest through the Google Home app it said I needed a Power connector. I contacted Google Nest Support and they indicated I can use on connector for all the t-stats which I thought was unusual. Well I submitted for the free connector from the message that pops up on the app. Searching on the web I found out that each t-stat requires its own power connector. So I connected the next t-stat I had and got the same message as the 1st one but it looks like the free connector is just a promo. it didn't state that on the 1st one but on the 2nd one. Bottom line I need to confirm if one will work or will I definitely need separate ones for each thermostat. Also Google should have stated that it was just a promo. It will cost me over $100 to get connectors for the rest of them.  thanks for your replies.

Hi Afrim,

Yikes! I apologize for any confusion you've experienced regarding the Nest Power Connector for your Nest Thermostats. To clarify, each Nest Thermostat typically requires its own Nest Power Connector, especially if you don't have a C wire available. Using a Nest Power Connector or common wire (C wire) provides a constant source of power to the thermostat, ensuring stable operation and avoiding potential power-related issues. While it's possible to use a single Nest Power Connector for multiple thermostats, it's not recommended and may cause power supply issues or inconsistent performance.

You have two options. Either run a C wire to each of your Nest Thermostats from your control board or have a Nest Power Connector connected to each of your thermostats. Since the Nest Power Connector is only limited to one (1) per home structure, could you try to add only one Nest Thermostat per home structure and then set up each of them one by one until you reach the promo for the Nest Power Connector?

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
