Nest Thermostat not charging

EVC2022

I have a 1st generation learning thermostat which worked wonderfully until I upgraded to AT&T’s fiber optic. I don’t know if there is any relationship here, but since then the thermostat won’t (1) stay connected to the wifi and (2) won’t keep its charge. I charged for hours and still nothing. I’m wondering if the device is just incompatible or if there is something else wrong.

Changing your ISP to AT&T shouldn't cause this to happen.

The 1st Gen Nest Learning Thermostat is extremely old.

Is there a C wire connected?
