temp changes and displays "peak time"

I have disabled home away assist, disabled eco temperatures, disabled auto schedule and reset the schedule .., but my thermostat will still display a green leaf, change the temperature and display 'peak time'.    How do I stop the thermostat from changing the temperature range I set?

Same!!! This thing is driving me crazy! I bought it so I could control the temp for my elderly mother with dementia (she kept changing the old thermostat) and this one is WORSE! No matter what I do it changes the temp automatically…

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

@CBFox, thanks for your assistance.

@KM007, I appreciate you've tried finding a fix. Since you were able to cancel the Nest Renew via web, the changes should already take effect. Keep monitoring your Nest Thermostat behaviour and if there’s anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

@Sugre, I'm sorry to hear you're also having the same issues and I understand how difficult your situation is. Have you also tried contacting your utility company? If the feature is not associated to them, cancel the Nest Renew Program feature. Here's the link on how.

Also, check this link about Nest Renew. Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.

Thanks,

Mark

You may have (inadvertently) let your electric utility sign you up for their program to reduce usage during times of peak demand.  Many electric companies have such a program.  You could contact them, or maybe someone on this forum can tell you how to determine whether that's causing your Nest's behavior.

After canceling Renew, a yellow leaf appeared, with “peak time”.   I had previously confirmed with my utilities that they are setting the temperature.   I did reboot the device and have not seen the temperature automatically change since, so maybe that is the key.   We have not had a major temperature swings since so maybe that’s why it hasn’t changed.   I will keep monitoring

Hello KM007,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, and I'm glad that your Nest Thermostat no longer changes the temperature randomly.

If I can help with anything, you know where to find us.

Best,

Mark

Hi KM007,

I have reached out to our electric provider and they are NOT adjusting the thermostat.   I would need to be enrolled in their saver program (which I am not) and if I was, they would need to install a device on/in our home (which I do not have).

It appears that I was (inadvertently) in the "google renew" program.   I did not knowingly sign up for this service.  I was able to cancel it through the website.   Hopefully, that will stop my issue.

I did not enable seasonal savings or was given any notification about it
