Nest Thermostat not showing in Home app

I have a brand new nest learning thermostat and I have installed it and connected it to the nest app, with my google account. This all works fine. The thermostat is connecting to the heater and can operate it, so thatks fine.

but it doesn’t show up in the Home app and I can’t operate it with the home assistent. I tried installing it in the home app directly, but afer scanning the qp code it says this installation isn’t available. I tried installing it by entering the codes manually. I can enter the 6 digit code but after that I am asked for the last 4 digits of the serial number, but there is no space to fill in the number.

how can I connect the thermostat to google home so I can operate it with my google assistent?

When a thermostat is installed in the Google Nest app, it's supposed to AUTOMATICALLY show up in the Google Home app, but I've seen lots of other customers in this forum report that's not happening for some unknown reason.

Many customers have done this: create a temporary second Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Nest app, then go to that empty second "home" in the Google Home app and delete it. The thermostat then appears in the Google Home app. Apparently, doing this forces the 2 apps to sync.

Exactly the same issue as above, this fixed it also for me. Thankyou!

Thanks so much. That worked immediatly. And you are right, it’s supposed to show up immediatly but it doesn’t. But this way worked perfectly and is a real simple work around
