Hi, I have a v2 Nest learning thermostat. It has worked great for several years. Recently when we turn the dial, there is no feedback (i.e., the temp numbers don't change). If I take the cap off the other Nest and put it on this one, it works great and provides changing numbers when turned. Does that mean the cap needs a firmware update? I don't have any other ideas.

With the old cap, can you remotely chante the settings?

yes, we can use the app and it does change the temp. just the physical dial gives no feedback at all.
