Nest Thermostat

My Nest thermostat is connected to my old phone which broke Sunday.   The screen won't even come on.   How do I connect Nest thermostat to my new phone?   I've scanned the Qr code on back of thermostat,  then phone app tells me to enter the Entry Key.  When I'm on thermostat and go to "Nest app" it doesn't give me an entry key.   It says "this thermostat is connected to an account".  Help please.. what do I do?

Login to the Nest app with the same account you used to setup your thermostat, it should be there in the app when you login. If you don't know the account you used, or if it doesn't appear in error:

  1. Press the thermostat to open the menu, scroll to and select Settings > Reset > Account connection.
  2. Once reset, on the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  3. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  4. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  5. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  6. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  7. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.
