Nest Thermostat

I don't know for sure what kind of thermostat I have. I got it with the house, but no instructions. When I read the info on the net it's very confusing. When I try to tap the side, nothing happens. It shows 2 numbers on the display. I don't know how to set the temp or how to change anything.

Upload a picture and someone will tell you the model number.

Have you tried rotating the dial left or right?

Thanks for replying. I managed to get a Utube video showing exactly what I needed.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. You can attach the photo here by going to this link Google Nest Community Forum. Hit reply on the thread, and you'll see a camera icon or three horizontal lines to expand the toolbar, where you can click the camera icon and send your image.

You can check what type of Nest Thermostat you have and charge your thermostat with USB.

You can use the USB port on the back of your Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E to charge it up when the battery is low.

  1. Pull off the thermostat display.
  2. Plug it into a USB port on your computer or a wall charger like the one you use to charge your phone.
  3. A blinking light on the front of your thermostat confirms that it’s charging. The color of the light will depend on the battery level of the thermostat when you charge it. Usually, your thermostat will take about half an hour to recharge. But if the battery is fully drained, it can take as long as 2 hours to recharge.

Nest thermostat USB compatibility:

Micro-USB port

  • Nest Thermostat E
  • 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat
  • 2nd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat

Mini-USB port

  • 1st Gen Nest Learning Thermostat

No USB port

  • Nest Thermostat Note: If you get a low battery message on your thermostat, pull off the display from its base and replace the AAA alkaline batteries.

Thanks for the help here, @Frustratedddd.

Keep us posted.

Renz

Thanks for your reply. I found a Utube video showing exactly what I needed. Except the information about the battery which I wouldn't have known about without you. Hope this doesn't need charging often as I'm nervous about pulling the front off!.
