Nest Thermostat

I’ve had my Nest for a few years. Last year we didn’t use the central a/c so we didn’t realize the issue until this past winter when we tried to use the heat.

It will not hold a charge, I charge it with a USB before bed and have heat overnight and then by morning it is drained again. The a/c has been completely disconnected from the system, why I don’t know. When I put the Y1 wire into the respective spot, I get an E error code.

Nothing I do fixes the problem.

Hi @rickflynn1010 ,

I'm very sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat is having issues with its battery draining quickly. To better understand the cause of this and assist you more effectively, I'll need to gather some additional information. Would you mind answering the following questions?

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • When did the issue first occur?
  • Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?

I’ll be waiting for the information.

Best regards,

Josh
