Nest Upstairs Zone not working

ALLLL1

Hi

Ive seen a number of threads recently on the heating system working fine for a number of years and then the upstairs zone not working. In the morning our upstairs nest zone does not call the boiler and the rads do not heat up. The downstairs works fine. I have tried cancelling the schedule and re entering it. When I switch the heating on either from my phone or from the thermostat I do not hear the click I have read about in some threads. What does that mean?

many thanks

Hi ALLLL1,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with your Nest Thermostat's upstairs zone. It's frustrating when a previously functioning system starts to act up. Based on your description, there could be a few possible reasons for the problem.

Firstly, the lack of a clicking sound when you switch on the heating may indicate a communication issue between the thermostat and the heating system. This could be caused by a wiring problem, a power issue, or issues with the heating system itself. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Verify that all wiring connections between the Nest thermostat and your heating system are secure. Sometimes, a loose wire can disrupt communication.
  2. Try restarting your Nest thermostat. You can do this by going to the thermostat settings and selecting the option to restart. This may help to re-establish communication with the heating system.
  3. Check for any issues with the heating system itself. Ensure that the boiler is functioning properly and that there are no issues with the radiators in the upstairs zone.
  4. If the issue persists, you might want to perform a factory reset on your Nest thermostat and set it up again. This can sometimes resolve software-related glitches.

I hope this helps and that your heating issue gets resolved soon.

Best regards,
Mark
