Hello - I have a V3 Nest and a Drayton LP241 thermostat.
When the installer put in the Nest, I assumed he would take out the Drayton but for whatever reason, he has left the it in place.
My question is: the Drayton has 4 settings - ON, OFF, TIMED and ONCE.
How should it be set in order for the Nest to work properly?
Thanks.

I assume you mean you have a 3rd Gen Thermostat? The Drayton LP241 is a programmer, that is left on 24hrs. You need power to the Nest 24hrs. I don't know why they leave the old programmers in, more work I suppose, or have no idea.
I assume the installer didn't leave the original thermotat installed as well?

Many thanks for your reply. Yes, I mis-spoke - I have the 3rd Gen Nest thermostat with the LP241 programmer still in place. See photo. So sounds like I should have the LP241 set to the ON position at all times? Such that the Nest will override it.

Yes, On, 24hrs, constant or whatever the option is.
That is a lazy install, what is the coil of flex all about? Did they leave the original thermostat in as well?

Hi @smallard,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you have a Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) and a Drayton LP241 programmer, and you're unsure of the correct setting to ensure your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) works properly. I’m happy to provide you with more information.
@Frustratedddd, Thanks for jumping in.
The Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) is designed to be your sole controller for your heating system, working with the Heat Link. Your old Drayton programmer is no longer necessary. If you experience any issues after making this change, a qualified technician should be contacted to check for underlying wiring or system problems.
Please keep me posted if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Derick.
