Nest Wiring spots

My existing thermostat has spots for "Rh and Rc" and are both used. The new Nest only has an "R"

Can I not use this Nest with my system?

Hello Adambrothwell,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. Based on the photos of the wires from your current thermostat, this is a dual transformer which means the heating and cooling system has its own transformer. This should be compatible only with 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat.Check out this link for Nest thermostat compatibility.

The correct wiring configuration for that in the Nest thermostat is:

1. White wire (label Y) on Y1
2. Red wire(label RC)  on RC terminal
3. Green wire on G
4. White wire (label W) on W1
5. Red wire(label RH) on RC terminal

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,
Edmond
