Good morning. I am configuring my HZ432 zonning controller to operate HVAC system using 2 zones controled by Nest learning thermostats. Currently I have NESt thermostats configured to run dual fuel system (2 stage heat pump and 1 stage gas furnace). HZ432 is also configured for dual fuel system (both DATS and OT sensors are connected). It seems that HZ432 should be able to control everything by itself and NEST thermostats should be configured with only RC-W1-Y1-C-G and not as dual fuel but a simple HVAC system and HZ432 should handle dual fuel and Y1 and Y2. Will that kind of configuration work? Thank you

Hello peralex1,
Thank you for reaching out with your HVAC configuration inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.
Based on your description, it seems like you have a comprehensive setup with the HZ432 zoning controller and Nest Learning Thermostats in a dual-fuel system. Your understanding of configuring the thermostats with only RC-W1-Y1-C-G and letting the HZ432 manage the dual fuel system with Y1 and Y2 is correct.
This configuration should work effectively, as you've outlined. By allowing the HZ432 to handle the dual fuel system with DATS and OT sensors connected and configuring the Nest Thermostats for a simple HVAC system (RC-W1-Y1-C-G), you are enabling seamless coordination between the thermostats and the zoning controller. But to be sure, can you share with us a photo of your current thermostat's wiring setup?
Should you have any further questions or require additional assistance during the configuration process, let me know.
Best regards,
Mark
