Nest and Home show different temperatures for the same device.

Installed Nest Learning Thermostat recently.  Had to use Nest to install, even though had Home.  There are frequent discrepancies on temperature readings between the two apps.  And occasional readings that are wildly wrong.   What's going on?

Hi Cnfzd-2,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing discrepancies in temperature readings between the Nest app and the Home app after installing a Nest Learning Thermostat.

The Nest thermostat and the Home app may experience temporary discrepancies in temperature readings due to various factors. Synchronization delays, weak network connectivity, software or firmware updates, calibration differences, and placement and environmental factors can all affect the accuracy of temperature readings. Synchronization delays can cause temporary discrepancies, while weak network connectivity can disrupt communication between the thermostat and the apps. To ensure accurate readings, ensure stable Wi-Fi connections and reliable internet connections. Software or firmware updates may introduce changes in temperature data processing and display, causing discrepancies. Calibration differences may result in minor variations in reported temperatures, but these are normal and should not significantly impact the thermostat's performance. For accurate temperature measurements, ensure the thermostat is installed correctly and not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or other sources of heat or cold.

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe
