Nest app not in thermostat settings

I have an existing nest thermostat and trying to connect new air unit. I need the entry key. When I go to settings on the thermostat, there is no “nest app” icon to select to obtain entry key. What am I missing????

Just to check, which model of thermostat do you have?

Can you help me understand further why you need the entry key? The entry key is only used during setup to add the thermostat itself to the Nest app, it's not used for anything else.

If you have the newer Nest Thermostat model, setup and managed in the Home app, there will be no entry key, as that uses a QR code for setup with the Home app.

Hi Jennac23, 

 

I wanted to check and see if you managed to see the information that davidking has shared. Also, if you have the Nest Learning Thermostat or the Nest Thermostat E, you can follow the steps below to check for the Entry Key. 

 

  1. Press your thermostat’s ring to open the Quick View menu.
  2. Choose Settings. 
  3. Turn the ring to Nest app and press the ring to select it.
  4. Select Get entry key to retrieve a unique entry key. Follow the next steps below to use your Nest app to add your thermostat to your account.
