I have my thermostat downstairs and a temperature sensor upstairs. In the evening I'll go upstairs where it's 24C and the temp downstairs is set to 21C. When I go upstairs I'll switch to use the sensor. I expect it not heat for a while because it's hot upstairs. But then I'll find the heat comes on because the app keeps reverting to the thermostat instead of the sensor. It does this multiple times. Every few minutes. I keep changing it back to the sensor and then it reverts back to the thermostat. Sometimes the toggle in the app switches to the sensor but the dial reflects the thermostat. I have to force quit the app to get it to change (sometimes this doesn't even work).
Nest is so buggy ever since Google bought it and they rarely add features or fix bugs. (Don't get me started on the fact that it never learns... It's supposed to be a learning thermostat but it never adjusts)
So frustrating!

Hi Proggie,
Yikes! I understand your frustration with the behavior of the Nest app and the switching between temperature sensors. Here's what you can do:
Let us know how it goes.

I have this same problem for quite some time now and the solution above and others I've tried to no avail. I share "Proggie" frustration and feels that since Google took over Nest it went downhill. Along with this Google will no longer be supporting Nest Aware which will effect me but a separate issue to this one.

Yeah 1-3 didn't help, and I'm reluctant to do 4. But will try it I guess

Hi there,
Checking back in—have you already tried that fourth step? If so, how did it go?
Thanks,
Zoe

We've had very warm weather the past few days so the heat hasn't been going on in the evenings so haven't been able to test

Hello Proggie,
I see. I'll keep this thread open and will wait for your update until you're able to do the fourth step.
Regards,
Zoe

Tried all the above. Still no solution. It's on Google's end to fix with a update rather then making people jump through unnecessary hoops trying to fix which do not work. It really is starting to make one to think twice before committing to Google supported products in the future.
