Nest continues to turn heat up even though we sre not home

We are away from the house fir an extended period of time.  We set the thermostat to 60 on eco.  I have set away to be defined as when my phone is not home.  The nest keeps turning up our heat and turning of eco setting.  Why?  How can I fix this.  We want to have the thermostat to stay set at 60 degrees

Within the last few weeks, my Nest Learning themostat is doing the same thing.  When we are away, it will stay in ECO mode for a few days and then on its own pop back into the scheduled heat settings.  Has been fine for several years prior to having this issue.  Maybe Google updated the NEST app and screwed something up?

Hello folks,

I'm sorry for the late reply and for the trouble this may have caused. Let's see what's going on.

If you both have the Nest Thermostat E or the Nest Learning Thermostat, make sure to disable the auto-learning schedule to avoid the temperature changing randomly. Also, adding home members with your thermostats might also affect the changes. Make sure the phones are also set to Away, so your thermostats will only recognize the primary phone.

Please let me know if that helps, or if the issue still persists.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mark,

The Nest Learning thermostat I have has always (and still has) auto-learning disabled, so that's not the issue.  Also, there are no other family members on the app;  my phone is the only one which controls the thermostat, so that's not it.  Having said that, I'll also say that after the thermostat dropped out of ECO mode into the scheduled heat settings several different times over a week, it has stopped doing it (for now?) on its own.  I was remote from the house each time it happened, and I'm remote from the house now but monitoring NEST through the app a couple times a day to see if it "forgets" to be in ECO and jumps back to the schedule.  So far it has behaved.
