I have just purchase a nest e thermostat but nothing shows on the display when I plug it in. I have plugged it in to several different sockets but it is still unresponsive, please help!

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum and for being a step ahead of us. I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. To isolate it further, could you please try using a different Micro USB cable? If the issue persists, you can go to your point of purchase to get a replacement real time.
