I'm getting a message about the w1 wire for my nest.
Just turned on the heat portion about a week ago, but I've had this nest for years and never had a problem until now.
I've reseated the w1 wire a few times. Error code goes away then comes back.
I've reset the nest a couple of times, but still the error code comes back.
Furnace is working fine.

@Thorn , if you’re having a problem with your W-2 wire, we need to verify that the system is working properly. For example, what the nest thermostat does is it sins a small millivolt voltage towards that unit and looks forward to come back and see the other side of the gas valve. If by chance it does not it will report a error. When you turned on the heating did it actually come on?
you can manually test this to verify the system is working properly using just the wires. If you jump W1 to R the heating system will be activated. You have to wait a few moments for the heating exchanger to get hot enough before the blower comes on so just leave it there until you basically hear the blower come on. Once the blower comes on verify the heat is warm. After that, you can put the W1 back in its terminal position.

I solved the problem...
Cleaned all of the wires at the thermostat, reseated them again - looked good for a bit longer, but the error came back.
The furnace board was slow flashing red green...normal
Turned off the furnace to look at the wiring on the board. Loosened all of the screws and put them back in.
Saw an extra set of white and black wires going from the board through a hole above the furnace filter. Took the furnace filter out and saw that these two wires were just sitting at the bottom of the duct work...and they were both bare wires!!! I believe they were going to the humidifier attached to the furnace at one point, but not 100% as the wires looked like they were cut. I did have renos done a couple of years ago, but I don't think they touched these wires...
So I cut the wires and put some marrettes on them to make sure they weren't going to touch the duct work again. I may just take the wires out completely since they don't seem to be doing anything.
Put everything back together and the boiler fired up 30 seconds after turning on the furnace again!
It was a white wire as the error code indicated, but not something that I would think anyone could easily figure out.
Wife is happy we have heat again 🙂
