Nest heat link faulty

Robw

Hi went to put the heating on a couple of days ago and the thermostat says it isn’t getting any power from the heat link. I’ve had an electrician looking at it and there’s power going to the heat link, but no power going out. Looking at these forums it looks like a common fault. I’ve only had it about 18 months so don’t expect it to fail so soon. Please can I arrange for a replacement heat link? As soon as possible because it’s getting cold!

Hello @Robw,

Thanks for reaching out. I'll do my best to get this sorted for you as soon as possible.

Here are some helpful troubleshooting steps:

Press the button on the Heat Link and check if you have any lights on it
Check if the circuit breakers and the switches are set to on
Turn them off and then back on
Press on the button again and check for LEDs

Could you also help me with some answers to these questions?

How long has your thermostat been installed for?
Did the issue happen during the installation?
Is there any error on the Nest thermostat display?
Have you had any power cuts recently?
Have you had any work done on your electrical or heating systems recently?
If yes, was the power properly restored at the fuse board after work was done?
How many zones ( thermostats ) are present in the setup?

Regards,
Cristian

Hi Cristian

i thought I’d replied but I’d must not have gone through. All the answers to your questions was no. The electrician I had to look at it said it was a common fault with the heat link, and I got tired of waiting for an answer on here. We are now in winter and I asked the question a month ago. So I’ve replaced the nest with a hive.

thanks
