Hello, looking for help with a new nest thermostat gen3. Recently installed with a new Worcester Bosch combi green star 4000.
First issue noticed was thermostat was in manual mode and I wasn’t able to operate the dial to change the temperature. If I set it to heat mode to allow me to change temperature, the heat link switches off and so does the boiler. If I set it to a higher temp then the boiler comes back on and starts heating. Problem is when it’s off and you run the hot tap the boiler is off and does nothing so there is no hot water.
secondly the thermostat keeps going to heat mode automatically and the heat link switches off along with the boiler and even after pressing the button on HL after a short while it switches off again.
also noticed that the rf thermostat is still connected to receiver on boiler and can operate heating, would have thought this would need removing? As when I take batteries out of it then boiler is constantly looking for it, and receiver also flashing green.
any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Tinman989,
Thanks for contacting this community! I completely understand the frustration you must be feeling with your new Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen and the Worcester Bosch Combi Greenstar 4000 boiler. From what you've shared with me, your Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen isn't letting you easily adjust the temperature because you need to set a higher temperature for it to come back on and start heating. Most concerning, you're not getting hot water when there's no heating demand, which shouldn't happen with a combi boiler. On top of that, the thermostat is acting erratically, and your old RF thermostat is still connected, causing conflicts.
Regarding the issues you're experiencing with two thermostats connected, the most recommended solution would be to contact a Nest Pro. They can inspect your installation, ensure the old RF thermostat is completely disconnected, and configure everything correctly to get your system working as it should.
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Eduardo
