Hello

just had nest thermostat fitted and when you heat it triggers the boiler which heats the radiators.

when you use the boost funtion for the hot water nothing happens and it seems the only way to heat the hot water is to have the central heating on.

Please can you help?  Thanks

First step is to upload a picture of the Heat Link terninal connections under the cover. Upload them on here and we will have a look to see if wired correct to start with. You will see they are marked up as L - N  1- 6 - OT - T1 T2

Combi or system boiler?

Hello and thanks for the response.

where do I find the heat link terminal connection please?

it’s a system boiler

The cover is on the Heat Link box, the white box with a green light, and a large button in the middle. Loosen the screw at the bottom, and remove the cover. Take a picture of those terminals, and the box. Obviously the connections are live, so just be careful. You will be OK, but if you have doubt turn of the power feeding the box.

Hi, @Jaykay77!

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I’m truly sorry the Nest hot water boost is not triggering the boiler. I know how important the proper functioning of the nest hot water boosts is. Help’s here!

To better assist you, please provide the following information:

  • What type of thermostat do you have?

  • When was your thermostat installed?

  • What is the status of the Heat Link's LED light?

  • When did the issue start?

  • Has there been any recent work done on your thermostat(s) or heating system?

  • Were there any power outages?

  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Disable the Bacteria Prevention feature:

    • On the display, go to Settings, then Equipment, then Bacteria Prevention, and then Disable.

  • Disable heating schedule:

    • On the thermostat, go to Settings > Reset > Auto-Schedule > Reset.

  • Disable Eco mode:

    • Press your thermostat ring to open the Quick View menu.

    • Select Settings > Eco.

    • Select the temperature you want. If your thermostat controls heating, you'll see 'Heat to.' If it controls cooling, you'll also see 'Cool to.'.

    • Press the thermostat ring to select the temperature you want to change. Turn the ring to adjust until you see off.

  • If the Heat Link is in manual mode, turn off manual mode:

    • Press the Heat Link button once for one second.

    • If the Heat Link is not in manual mode, or if the issue persists, go to the next step.

  • Perform a click test:

    • Activate the hot water using the display.

    • If the display shows the water droplet and you notice that the Heat Link also turns on, it means the system works as expected. If not, please let me know.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana
